REVIVE partners meet for final in-person Consortium Meeting in Antwerp, Belgium
Last month, the REVIVE partners met for the final time as a full consortium, as part of a two-day project meeting in Antwerp, Belgium.
The meeting marked the culmination of REVIVE, celebrating the project’s achievements and discussing the lessons learnt from the challenges faced during the project. Since the start of the project in 2018, REVIVE has successfully deployed 11 trucks across Europe, collecting data to validate the technology in daily waste collection operations. During the project, the REVIVE consortium visited deployment sites and partner locations during annual meetings, to share learnings and to discuss and overcome emerging challenges faced as an innovative project.
The meeting was hosted by the City of Antwerp, who have integrated two REVIVE hydrogen refuse trucks into their daily operations for nearly two years (see video) . As part of the meeting, the consortium visited CMB.TECH to learn about their development of hydrogen combustion technology for heavy duty trucks, as well as hydrogen storage and hydrogen/ammonia implementation in shipping vessels.
Final workshop
As the end of the project draws near, REVIVE will co-host a workshop in Groningen on Wednesday 4th December. The workshop, ‘Hydrogen Solutions for European Cities’, will discuss learnings from the JIVE II and REVIVE projects for the future of hydrogen buses and refuse trucks.
