JIVE 2 / REVIVE Workshop

Hydrogen Solutions for European Cities: Learnings from the JIVE II and REVIVE projects for the future of hydrogen buses and refuse trucks

The joint collaboration of the JIVE 2 and REVIVE workshop will take place at the Municipality of Groningen (Duinkerkenstraat Gemeente Groningen) on Wednesday the 4th of December.

The workshop will mark the approach of the final stages of the JIVE 2 and REVIVE projects and will be a key event to share findings and lessons learnt from the operational data collected and analysed during the deployment of hydrogen buses and trucks in JIVE II and REVIVE, as well as preliminary results from the economic and environmental studies. The event will also explore the next steps in deploying fuel cell buses and refuse trucks across Europe, with a strong emphasis on policy discussions and its role in unlocking market potential.
The workshop is located in the city of Groningen, which has emerged as a leading example of innovation and sustainability in the transportation sector, successfully integrating FC refuse trucks and buses into its public services.

Attendees will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the successful implementation of these technologies (by visiting the depots) and gain insights from key players in the market (through the workshop sessions).
In the morning, attendees (in conjunction with JIVE II) will have the opportunity to participate in a site visit to the Qbuzz depot and hydrogen refuelling station (HRS), where a JIVE 2 hydrogen fuel cell bus and REVIVE refuse truck will be on display. This hands-on experience will allow participants to explore these innovative vehicles up close, learn more from the operator and maintenance staff, and see how hydrogen mobility solutions are actively being integrated into public transport. In addition, those in attendance will have the opportunity to ride the hydrogen bus from the Qbuzz depot to the Demand Aggregation workshop.

The audience will comprise of a range of local and European stakeholders interested in hydrogen technologies including local authorities and policymakers.
